How it works

Human in the loop

In polyphony, the cantus firmus is the fixed melody every other voice is written around. In Cantava the owner sets it — goals, budget and rules — and three agents each carry one voice: what to sell, promotion and customer service. Its Chinese name says the same thing: sounding together.

The agents find, check, cost, rank and draft. A person signs only where the consequences land:

  1. What to sell — the shortlist and the selling price.
  2. Before publishing — one check before anything goes out.
  3. Refunds and money — anything that touches money goes to a person.

Change a number after a signature and the signature no longer counts. How much the agents do alone is up to the owner.
